Type 2 Diabetes is a growing problem with many people receiving a diagnosis in Australia every day. We carry out annual neuro-vascular foot assessment (more often if necessary) in line with the national diabetes guidelines. We report back to your GP at least once a year and liaise with any other relevant members of the healthcare team that are involved in your care, about your lower limb health. We have close links with the podiatrists at the WA country health service and can cross refer any higher risk issues such as foot wounds or infections. Diagnosis of a foot/ankle complaint will include a thorough history taking, hands on assessment, some diagnostic tests, gait and functional analysis and occasionally referral for imaging such as X-ray, ultrasound or MRI.
